Typical delivery timescale is 3-5 working days for local deliveries. We do try to minimise fuel waste by grouping orders in similar areas together which may cause delay to your delivery but we always try to deliver as quickly as possible. We do not typically deliver at weekends.
Local deliveries are made from the roadside into the property using a vehicle fitted with a crane. The crane’s reach is approximately 3 – 4 meters and in most cases can lift over an obstacle such as a fence or hedge that is up to 6 ft tall if the vehicle can park directly next to it
We do not require any one to be present at the time of delivery but please provide a good description in the delivery notes where you would like the goods delivered to. If you require the goods to be lifted into a fenced/walled area someone will likely need to be present to unhitch the bags once it is lifted over and lowered to the ground.
Please be aware we are unable to park on double yellow lines to unload the vehicle. If you have specific access requirements such as gates or via a rear lane for example, please contact us to discuss before ordering so we can send the appropriate vehicle to suit your delivery.
Our Extended Local Delivery Area
For customers that are located outside of our standard local delivery areas above we offer an extended local delivery service at a cost of £40 for up to 6 builders bags per load. Delivery to these areas is still made with our own fleet of HiAb delivery vehicles, the extended local delivery applies to the following postcode areas, if you are still outside of these areas please contact us with your postcode for a bespoke quotation.

Delivery Timescales
Deliveries are currently up to 2-5 working days starting from the day after your order. Please note this could be extended by a few days depending on the volume of orders received, especially for orders outside of Edinburgh and East Lothian where our main depots are located. We will contact you by text the day before delivery to confirm your delivery date and expected 2 hour time slot.
Bulk Bags
Please note delivery of all bags are made in bulk and offloaded mechanically from the roadside using a vehicle fitted with a crane that can unload from the roadside. Please note once the bulk bags are on the ground they cannot be moved and we do not assist in the emptying of the bag. We DO NOT carry bags manually into your property.
Single bulk bag will be charged £15 delivery to local postcodes, orders of 2 or more qualify for free delivery. Deliveries outside of our local & extended delivery areas will be made using the national pallet delivery service at a rate of £55 per pallet.
Small Bags
Small bags are put into bulk bags and unloaded from the roadside in bulk. Our drivers do not man handle products into properties.
Minimum order for delivery is 5 bags. Orders of less than 40 bags will be charged £15 delivery, orders of 40 bags or more will qualify for free delivery to a local postcode. Deliveries outside of our local delivery area will be made using the national pallet delivery service at a rate of £55 per pallet (40 bags to a pallet).
Empty Bags
- We can collect your empty bags when you receive your next delivery
- You can drop them off at one of our sites listed on the Contact us page
- You can refill empty bulk bags with garden clippings and book our Caledonian Collection service
Once on site we will repurpose the bags, or if they are damaged we will send them to be recycled.
